– I would be scrambled eggs and bacon!

We love our community and we love highlighting individuals doing awesome things! In our new Sunday series, we dig a little deeper into the minds of people from the Norwegian startup scene.

Simone Englert is Marketing Manager at AssiTech who exchanged her former home in Hamburg with Trondheim and has lived here happily ever after. AssiStep is an award-winning stair walker that makes it easier and safer to climb stairs and enables you to live in your own home as long as possible.

In our first Sunday interview, we asked Simone 8 questions and got pretty interesting answers.

1. What is your motto?

Instead of saying “I can’t” or “I won’t” and overthink, just do it. Like Nike. Unless you really don’t want to. It is important to know yourself well enough to understand the difference between being afraid or anxious about doing something or really just not wanting to do something. That makes all the difference for me.

2. What job would you have in a parallel universe?

There are actually two jobs and I guess they could not be more opposite. The first one would be being a developer/programmer and the other one would be being a dog daycare/hotel owner.

3. What would you change if you could go 15 years back in time?

It does not even have to be 15 years but I would love to go back to a time when I have not played the Witcher 3 yet just so I can play it for the first time again. Ohh, that would be sweet. Also, I’d make sure I’d go to Pink Floyd’s last concert at Live 8 in 2005.

4. What do you consider the most overrated virtue?

Patriotism, I think. But then again, I left my home country so what do I know about patriotism ;)

5. What is your greatest extravagance?

Truffles and everything truffle-related.

6. On what occasion do you lie?

Every time I tell my dog that he is a good boy – because, in fact, he is the best boy.

7. Which talent would you most like to have?

I would like to actually be really good at drawing and painting but hey I can draw a stick man, it’s something!

8. If you were breakfast, what type of food would you be?

Scrambled eggs and BACON!
