Electricity prices fluctuate—and we intend to take advantage of that.


In recent years, businesses (and to a lesser extent, private households after the introduction of the Norway-wide pricing scheme) have faced a major challenge: extreme and unpredictable variations in electricity prices. These fluctuations often strongly correlate with periods of high consumption, something that becomes painfully clear on electricity bills across the country every single month. In the worst cases, some businesses have been forced to cut production, lay off staff, or even shut down entirely due to high and volatile electricity prices.


This is the problem we aim to solve.


Our potential customers are essentially anyone with electricity bills to pay. While private households now benefit from more stabilized pricing, there’s still real potential for them to benefit financially from our product. However, we currently see small and medium-sized businesses as our primary early customer group—though more market research is needed before we can say so definitively.


Our method for helping both businesses and households is simple to explain, though technically complex to execute: we want to install battery packs on-site for our customers to buffer against fluctuating power prices. By charging the batteries when electricity is cheap and discharging when it’s expensive, we create a financial cushion. During peak price periods, most of the power used comes from the battery—charged earlier when prices were low.


A secondary benefit is the positive impact on the national power grid. When production dips or the grid becomes overloaded, distributed battery use can reduce pressure. While this is not something we can monetize directly, it’s something Norway will increasingly need in the coming years.
